Jem is a series designed for girls only. Of course, us guys can watch it, no problem. but the series is about female pop idols who want to be pop stars? So, no shooting here. This cartoon also has an evil sde, and yes, guess what that is; It's another pop girlish band who also quests for fame, but their intent is more of the "stop at nothing to get there" sort. So we can't nessocarily call this group called ironicly "The Misfits" evil. Greedy is more a label that suits them nicely. 
The music produced for he series isn't half bad actually. Some of the songs make me wonder whyI haven't heard any of them in real life. 

It's a great ride for girls, and a groovy ride for us guys who want to keep the girls company and cheer the bands on. Again, no shooting, nor lasers or explosions, but a wild ride just the same, with good music (some tunes really stand out), and some dirty tricks by the Misfits to keep us entertained.
