Transformers is one of the american cartoons which has made it bigtime all over the world. The evil decepticons, vs the autobots have been a saga that many has payd a lot to see. 

In it's days, many was willing to do a lot to see Transformers, and therefore payd big bucks for satalite dishes which then was a lot more expensive than it is today. So one can say that the series has had a tromendous success. The second transformers wasn't as grand as the first, since the first mixed a little science- fiction with realism, hence being on Earth. The second series, which happened in space, isn't so great. But still, managed to hold it's fans, even though the fans of the series did discuss that transformers were better in it's former style. But the thing that made the second series so great, was a much more complex storyline, than it's counterpart. 

Later, the series slowly died. But, one can still see renemnants of the series. The Transformers toys, are still available in some formats, and although they have no cartoon series to them, they are still quite popular among adults, and children alike.
