Founding of Xanitra, and I am 20 years old. I sat guard duty in the army, watching cars drive by through a gate.. We got playstation in the little 2 square meter hut we sat in.. I invested in Music 2000, a music making program for the playstation, and that was the beginning of a beautiful friendship. I killed a lot of time, not by playing games, but by being productive: Making music. The interest was going to be so extensive that http://www.xanitra.com was created 4 months later.

Length Genre Description
Escape to Orion (hard acid mix) 2:54

Acid

This is our remix for the more hardcore dancers. Also, very old

Whats there to say. After I got the new equipment, that I produced O.D with (this song is on the Copy/Drag site) I decided I wanted to make a group that only dedicated itself to speed techno. Very hard version of my upcoming hardcore track. Let the speakers burn!   Vampires Night was actually my first track, but I've decided to sort this by upload number. So this seems to be the first song I uploaded to mp3.com. Guess I chose it first because of length size. Sorry for the quality on this first season, it's recorded from tape, as I at this time, didn't know any better.

I did record songs at the end of 1999, but uploading didn't start before 2000. Xanitra was founded in late second half of 1999.

Vampires Night 2:48

Techno

My very first track, see if you like it:)A very uptuned basship techno sound. With some classical music influ.  I thought this song was so good, that I actually made a sequal a whole lot later.

Escape to Orion 5:50 Dance A very catchy tune indeed:) One of our first

See Calendar notes: Copy/Drag challenges Xanitra to Gabber/Hardcore music bout?

This song is a colaboration between myself and CopyDrag. The track is very dancable and has some good riffs in there. We had tromendous difficulty deciding what version to use, since we had so many takes making the song. But, we have decided to instead release different versions of the song. This is the original, and the very hard acid version should already be released.. (if I haven't flopped complitely) Enjoy. The voice sample was the first and only time I used a voice sample from Ejay or something, other voice samples are in the mix, and also a song called "life"

Chinese Culture 4:21 Hardcore First imagine 1 billion different chinese people, chop sticks flying all about, and that special music culture. Then, listen to this. This song is old, very old. But we like to think of it as a classic here at Xanitra. It may not host the best sound tech, but it's still manages to stay with the big new hits we now have further down below. Enjoy. My first and actually one of my best attempts at Thunderdome type hardcore. This tune is surprisingly one of the best attempts.

song id: 404378 ]

Calling the Sheep (live & remixed) 2:52 Dance the original. This is actually the beginning of my first single, Calling the Sheep. This first version is not remixed, I just didn't know what a remix was at a time :) Remix does sound cool though huh?  song id: 404418 ]
Draculas Return 4:13 Techno A sort of a part 2 to the song "Vampires night." The count is grouchy. Happy hardcore with some orchestral stuff.Go slay some vampires people! :D

song id: 404463 ]

Escape to Orion [CopyDrag dub mix] 13:04 Chill Out This song was our last remix of Escape to Orion. We later took out our old equipment, and made a longer song on the same formula as this one. Check it out as well: "Left."

This is the only "old" song I'm keeping on the site. Because this one is so f**** good!If you'r into dark atmospheric stuff, you should really check this one out!

Woohh. Great mix! I got this from Copy/Drag, very far out and abstract. You should hear this:)

Church of Hope 3:14 Ambient / score If slayin vampires gets you down, go to Gabriels church nr.433 and find peace within yourself. On this night, Gabriel was alone on his organ with Adrienne on the piano. Then the theme tune for church 433 was born.

I needed a love theme for my vampire theme. Thats all

And Church 433 came a little later:)

City Lights 8:50 Ambient / harcore 21 of March - This one is PRETTY OLD... Still, it holds plenty of ground to a lot of our new material. We must not forget that this song was the ground for the many great remixes we've done, and that became the "Detecting the City Lights EP" [commercial voice: available now for a limited time only.. hehehe...]____________This is a more sad track. If you'r lonely, what really draws you to the city: The city lights.

Almost every week, somebody gets killed, does an OD, gets raped, or takes suicide. Not in their own homes, but in the street. The thing that I find so fascinating about this violent stinking town are the city lights.

Last song of 1999

Keeping Warm 1:23 Folk music Year 2000, and no y2k, wierd. :)

nice tune.. not too techno though

A camp fire, and a storm. A group of scouts gathers some guitars, and start fiddling. One of them has a cold as well. :)

song id: 431312 ]

Calling the Sheep [harsh sheep control] 6:16 Hardcore A reslashed version of the original. Much faster, harder, louder, longer. But, base concept is still the same. Start the dance:)

Atomikk Pulse sent me reviews on my songs. Said that I needed to work a little more on the blips and sounds of the original. This one of course, ain't so live though, recorded at my studio back home. V.B, hope you like it:)

Hadn't it been for the feedback from the artist Atomikk Pulse, Calling the Sheep would never have gotten an extra version. So this tune is dedicated to him.

cheers

Atomikk Pulse Was a contact I had a long time ago. You can find him on some of my mp3's in my collection. He disappeared without a trace for some reason, but hey, god bless the guy. He did produce some great trance music in the day.

Copy/Drag was actually the group before Xanitra. I had no idea that Xanitra would be so big, so I kept Copy/Drag a long time.

Rest in Peace

5:14 Ambient A song dedicated to causulties of war. War is sometimes nessocary, but the result is this:

Platoon
Causulties of war
Full metal Jacket
Various books,
Predator Alien, Aliens, Alien Ressurection (yup, these also qualifies)

Happy birthday to ME

2:54 Hardcore Happy tune with everybody envited, including the neighbours cat Scruffy.

This song was actually going to our junkyard evi||ive, but instead, we decided to keep it.
See if you like it, experimental gabber with a happy vibe.

song id: 505736 ]

Prowling Bear

2:22 Classical Symphonic electronic music with russian influ.

The same wavelength here as in Church of Hope, a bit simpler though.

song id: 505750 ]

Voodoo in you

2:40 Techno An old song, 1999 material. Check it out..Yes, this was actually a very old song, which I recorded from tape. Fun to hear an old song, which is as old as the first three on top.

song id: 505848 ]

Ghost Train 5:34 Hardcore Putting this song on top again, cos this one rules:) The tune sheds some light on the trains of NorwayThis train is haunted. Do you wanna ride it?(Caution: Extremely loud)Up here in Norway, the trains are poorly funded which in turn leeds to train accidents. People have seen ghosts on trains. That stalks carridges, and make horrible thumping noises. That is the insperation for this track

I used three ecco machines to give this song it's "ghost" feel. The song does have a story: Up here in Norway, the trains are poorly funded which in turn leeds to train accidents. But more often people now see ghosts, lurking on trains. Stalks carridges, and make horrible thumping noises.
Sometimes the noises are treated like there is something wrong with the train, and the train stops for repairs. Other times, it gets more severe, and entire carriages are empty because of the noise. Moaning, screaming, thumping. The lucky ones, get to see the stalkers up close, and end up
at the white chair with their local psychologist. I recorded the noise, judge for yourself.... is this a train you want to be in?

Well, if you don't like it, you know who were gonna call right?
:)

peace

lyrics: aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahaaaaaaaaaa woooooohoooooooooohohoooooooo

just joking....

War of the Groups

6:18 Techno Hard hitting machine sounding mayhem mixed with irish folk music. Although this track, and it's remix also are recorded from tape, it is hardly visable. I think the noise only adds to the atmosphere of the track. Probably my most professionally transfered song from tape to internet.

song id: 506921 ]

Church nr. 433

9:41 House This tune doesn't support the best tech. But I like this tune quite much actually:)

It all started out while listening to "Church of hope" and I found out
that I needed an uptuned new song.. this is what they got.

"These are the churches of 2043. A total of 500 churches all over the world. Another place, safe from vampires. The church has room for one more? Welcome my child, to my Church: Church nr. 433"- Priest Gabriel Welsh

song id: 526052 ]

Just so Ordinary

4:21 Techno in ordinary Xanitra style. There really wasn't anything more to say.

song id: 526290 ]

Calling the Sheep [in the MIX] 9:42 Dance / techno If you like what you hear, why not buy the EP. 3 other versions + the original. Gotta digg it.

All the 3 mixes, + the original live edit version into one song. The ambient bit in the end is unreleased, so watch out for that.

peace

War of the Groups [cyborg mix] 2:51 Ambient I thought about "gabber", but "noise" is the closest I came. Mix of the popular original. Referring here to choice of genre on mp3.com

Detector 9:09 Detroit? My first Detroit tune. Give me some feedback if you hate it, If you think this should be my last. If you liked it, tell your friends:)

I needed a detroit tune. Inspired from the aliens movie. Voice samples made at Wave Studios. (www.Xanitra.com)

Leader: "Ok Delta 1 you are "ready go".

Blue, turn on your detector.

Ok, I see you now.

Ok Delta, good luck.

Captain of Delta 1:
Oh my God, we're sourrounded.

Wounded Blue:

Oh **** there's too many of em ****

Dark Alien:
*******************

Leader: Delta, what the hell is
going on in there?

Delta?

Delta come in.

Leaders assistant: I'm sorry sir, we lost em.

We love Trance

5:42 Hmm, I wonder.. Don't we? Fun track with different moods.

Needed a new trance tune. I don't make a lot of those jokers, so this is trance at it's (Xanitra's:) finest.

Thank U China

Electronica a beautiful tune dedicated to China. More info in story behind the song.

I wanted to make a tune, and dedicate it to China. Because of their awesome influence on the rest of the world. Their culture, their inventions (thank god for fireworks ey?) and elegance.

I really have a lot of respect for the chinese culture and tradition, and hope anyone from China like the tune and are thankful for being chinese. You rock!

Well, ok, thats it then.

cheers..

Calling the Sheep [no control mix]

3:39

This one is extremely old. Still, it manages to be one of my most accomplished hardcore tunes, despite the somewhat daft quality this old tune now has. Enjoy this one, a true (xanitra) classic-.

This one ain't in the mix on the EP, so it gets a special place here:) cheers

OK, Xanitra..I hit your site, listened to a lot of stuff there..
LOTS of work, LOTS of talent..
Several possibilities, but "Calling the Sheep (No Control Mix)" has a real cool rabid sort of edge to it, and some of the kind of dark feel I was looking for. It's on UNDERWORLD II

http://www.mp3.com/stations/underworld2

thanx for the review. I'll be checkin out your station soon:)

don't even try the url... there are four songs there if you want to check them out, but mp3.com has been dead for a long time.

French Connection [french kiss remix]

4:05 House A nice remix of a tune we did in our old groupname "Copy/Drag"

Our french connection ditty is very nice. So with some new equpiment, and some better experience with sound recording, we remixed it:) Here is the original as well.

song id: 633765 ]

Last Flight

4:51 song id: 633530 ]  A high drive bloxx beat tune with a piano theme Xanitra style. enjoy

Breakbeats are fun, and since 2:30 Chill, we had to make one more. This one though is a bit more serious. With a piano theme which I think you'll like, and some heavy breaks to make you dance.

love it ey?

Escape [part I]

Escape [part II]

Escape [part III]

2:15 Chamber music The whole Escape experience on the EP.

Experimenting with the sounds of the first part continues...
This is also the first song which I got totally noise free. Since it is so short, I probably managed to avoid a tape recorder, and rather use my computer. This is probably also why this part comes before 1, and 2 because I had to upload them again since I tried later to reduce the noise in the background slightly.

updated: 13 february 2012... I don't know why Part 1 and 2 wasn't included.. so I just put them in.. Part 3 was the first Escape in the log for some reason.. The other parts however are intact.
